The Deal Island-Chance Volunteer Fire Company is proud to introduce the 2026 Hooked on Drum Fishing Tournament, Set against the legendary waters of the Tangier Sound, our Drum Fishing Tournament is where tradition, sport, and community come together for a meaningful cause as it brings anglers from near and far to compete for one of the Chesapeake Bay’s most iconic catches—the mighty drum—while supporting the men and women who protect our community every day: our local Volunteer Fire Company.
The Tangier Sound is known for its rich fishing heritage, and this tournament celebrates that legacy with friendly competition, camaraderie on the water, and a shared commitment to giving back. Every cast, weigh-in, and sponsorship directly benefits the fire company that depends on community support to maintain equipment, provide training, and sustain emergency readiness

BE A PARTICIPANT
May 2nd & 3rd, Deal Island Harbor
Ralph Abbott Rd., Deal Island, MD
Entry Fee – $125 a boat. Maximum crew of 5 people per boat.
Eligible Fish Species – Red Drum, Black Drum, Blue Catfish, Speckled Trout, and Snake Head. No limit on how many you can catch. It is catch and release for Red Drum unless legal size to keep is caught.
Winners – There will be cash prizes (TBD) for 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, for each category of eligible species.
Calcutta – $50 entry for biggest Red Drum by length, most Red Drum, largest Black Drum by weight.
